International table tennis congress - linking practice and science

The first international table tennis congress in Luxembourg will be held from Friday 23 November to Saturday 24 November 2018. It will feature a series of international experts from table tennis practice and science to provide state-of-the-art information on this highly complex and demanding sport. Aspects related to performance and health will take centre stage for a target audience of trainers, coaches, medical staff members, players and scientists of the field.

Focus will be put on the following topics, both from a practical and a basic knowledge point of view, with the challenge to close the loop between practice and science:

  • Technical skills and biomechanics
  • Injury prevention
  • Performance
  • Game analysis
  • New aspects

The conference will be hosted at the Novotel, located in the modern district Kirchberg, just at the edge of the historical centre of Luxembourg City. The 7-time Olympian Jean-Michel Saive and Tamara Boros will be the highlight of the congress presenting their elite careers. In other words, this will be the perfect occasion to learn, discuss and network with colleagues and specialists from the world of table tennis.

This congress is organised by the China Table Tennis College Europe (CTTC-E), in collaboration with the Luxembourg Institute of Research in Orthopedics, Sports Medicine and Science (LIROMS), the Luxembourg Table Tennis Federation and the Luxembourg Institute of Health. It is also the highlight of the annual event series of the Luxembourg Academy of Sports Medicine, Physiotherapy and Science.

Registrations are open - first come, first served. More information on the registration here.
